Four Cavalier seniors signed their letter of intent on Wednesday, Feb 2, agreeing to accept sports scholarships to various colleges.

After four years playing on the varsity soccer team at Coral Gables High, Jade Mallea signed her Letter of Intent to start a new chapter of her life. She will continue playing soccer and furthering her education at Pace University in New York City.

“I am thankful to be able to obtain a free education while dong what I love. This has been a dream of mine since I was seven years old,” senior Jade Mallea said.

Derrius Perryman, the younger brother of NFL linebacker Denzel Perryman, is following in his brother’s footsteps. The cavalier linebacker signed his letter of intent to attend Bryant University in Rhode Island this fall, along with teammate and defensive end Harrison Easton.

“I’d like to thank god for this opportunity and my family for supporting my dreams, anything I wanted to do. No matter what, they never told me I couldn’t do it, they always supported me,” senior Derrius Perryman said.

Xavier Burns, the defensive end for the varsity CGHS football team, also signed his letter of intent on wednesday. He will play this fall for Ohio’s Walsh University.

Congratulations to these Cavaliers!
