Prom is the most anticipated event of a high school senior’s year. It is the only night of the year where students look forward to getting all glammed up, planning what they are going to wear and how they are going to do their hair (and in some cases makeup) months in advance. On April 22, our seniors had the pleasure of being hosted at the JW Marriott in Brickell.

Taking place on Earth Day, the junior class board and a few other activities members spent the day adorning the ballroom with flowers, small trees, and other nature-themed decorations. By the time the seniors walked in, the room had been transformed.

The night started as everyone arrived in their tuxedos and gowns as they walked up the steps of the JW Marriott. As the night started out, students were treated to a buffet-style dinner which included congri, mashed yuca, steak, caribbean “jerk style” chicken, mahi-mahi, and salad. As students finished eating, they hit the dance floor and the DJ turned up the music for what proved to be a night full of dancing, laughing, and overall fun.

There were also various surprises throughout the night which included a dancing LED robot who shot fog out at the crowd, a beautiful backdrop for photos created by student council members and others, and a dessert bar with different kinds of cake.

Special thanks to the junior class board and the senior class board who spent months planning the event and executing it the day of.
