About the Contributor

Melissa Hernandez, CavsConnect Staff Writer
Melissa Hernandez is a senior in the International Baccalaureate program at Coral Gables Senior High. Eager to leave Miami on a journey of higher education, she involves herself as much as possible. Aside from being a second-year staff writer for Cavsconnect, she is the Vice President of Student Council, Captain of the cheer team and a member of Student Activities. In her free time, Melissa enjoys getting sun, playing guitar, hanging out with friends, making pottery, cooking, working out, reading and overthinking. She loves listening to music and has no shame in admitting she likes country music, but her favorite artists are Lana Del Rey, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift and One Direction. She often hopes that the band will get back together, but she knows it will never happen. You can also catch Melissa taking pictures of every single flower she crosses paths with, and then deleting them later since iCloud cannot back up 1,746 of her photos. Melissa hopes to enjoy her senior year by doing everything for the plot. Even though she never does because that is way too scary.
