Cavalier Baseball Defeats The Columbus Explorers!

Once more the Cavaliers take home a victory against the Columbus Explorers this past Wednesday, March 19 by a final score of 3-1. The game was an exemplary demonstration of the Cavalier competitive spirit.

“It’s hard to think of a game against Columbus as just any other game. You spend the entire game cringing play after play with faith that your team will win. The guys came out with confidence and were hungry for the win. As a senior all I have to say is, Columbus we will see you again soon,” senior Valerie Montesino said.

The game started with a bang, as senior pitcher Andrew Cabezas threw a complete game allowing 2 hits, walking 1, and striking out 12. Although the Cavaliers were initially down 1 run early, they were able to score three home runs by the 5th inning. Franky Montesino tied the game in the first run followed by Rolando Rodriguez with 2 home-runs to the right field. Cabezas escaped a last attempt from the Explorers as they had runners on first and third in the last inning and he struck out the last batter to end the game and declare our victory.

“We had a great turn out of students at this game. I believe our boys have worked extremely hard and it showed. This victory was crucial because it was a district game; their dedication and skill is what led them to yet another victory,” Principal Adolfo Costa said.

This victory was one of many for the Cavaliers. With hard work and dedication, the team is determined to achieve recognition at the state and national level.
