Happy holidays and make sure to stay safe this holiday season.

Wintertime is finally here which also means Christmas time. Almost every one, except the grinch, is jolly and excited for Christmas celebrations. Although gatherings may have to be limited this year it does not mean parties have to be less exciting. One way to spice up your holiday party is by baking these delicious and creative holiday treats.

Santa Hats

These desserts are perfect to serve as little snacks for your guests. (Luis Mosley)

Ingredients:

  • Circular piece of brownie
  • White Icing
  • Strawberries

Liven up your parties with this cute and easy to make treat. First make the brownies and cut them into small circles. Then on the top of the brownie pipe a border of white icing. Then place a strawberry in the center of the border. Lastly, pipe a little icing on the top of the strawberry, so it looks like a santa hat.

“Last year I made these adorable little santa hat treats for my christmas party, and everyone could not stop talking about them, “ sophomore Sophie Gonzalez said.

In addition to a normal snowman design, you can variety them and add little decals of your choice such as scarves, bows or bowties. (bettycrocker.com)

Melted Snowman

Ingredients:

  • Cookie
  • Marshmallows
  • M&Ms
  • White, black and colorful Icing

Start off with a circular cookie and pipe white icing so it looks like a splatter. Next place your marshmallow at the top of the cookie, and decorate it with a cute face. Then with the black icing, pipe little twig arms. Lastly, add any decorations of your choice and enjoy!

“I love to bake around the holidays, and ever since I found this recipe I have made them every year,” sophomore Katherine Arencibia said.

Reindeer Cupcake

If you do not have little pretzels to decorate with, big ones will work as well you just have to split them in half. (yourcupofcake.com)

Ingredients:

  • Cupcake
  • Brown Icing
  • Small Pretzels
  • M&Ms
  • Nilla Cookies
  • Eye shaped candies

These reindeer treats are a little more complicated than the last two, but are definitely worth the effort. First make the cupcakes, and make sure to give them some time to cool down so they do not melt the icing. Once your cupcakes are cooled spread a layer of brown icing and make it as a flat as possible. Then place a Nilla cookie towards the bottom of the cupcake. Next place either an M&M in the center of the Nilla cookie and candy eyes just above it. Lastly place two small pretzels at the top of the cupcake for the reindeer’s antlers.

Even though you cannot host any large gatherings this year does not mean you cannot make the most of your time with your family. So try these adorable and creative treats to raise some spirits during this year’s “Corona-mas”.
