As the school’s fall sports, such as football, volleyball, bowling, cross country, golf and swimming continue taking place, the winter sports season is quickly approaching. Some winter sports, like boys’ basketball have already begun practicing and have had pre-season matches. Though pre-season has not started for other winter sports, such as soccer, wrestling and girls’ basketball, tryouts have either already happened or will happen soon. In order to try out for any sport at the school, it is required to have a physical done, along with an insurance paid to athletic director Louis Romero before the tryouts.

Tryouts for boys and girls soccer took place on Mon. Oct. 16 through Wed. Oct. 18. Tryouts for girls’ basketball are scheduled for Mon. Oct. 30 and Tues. Oct. 31. As for wrestling, anyone is free to join the team as long as the coaches are aware before the season starts in November.

“Try-outs went well and I’m excited for the team to get to work, we have a lot of potential this year to succeed and make it far in the play-offs,” senior and girls’ soccer captain Kayla Ferra said.
