On this episode of CavsChat, seniors Lucia Chico and Massimo Aguila discuss this year’s rise in gas prices and how it affects everyone in American society, from ordinary consumers, to politicians. The two also go into how it has affected the economy, politics and young consumers’ spending habits.
Senior Angelina Lezcano, participated in the NFTE World Series Innovation challenge and won 3rd place in the world. Lezcano created a website where students can easily find scholarships. She encourages others to stay determined and never give up on their dreams. She wants to remind everyone that anything is possible!
Meet the Marina Devine and Lucia Chico, the founders of the Garden Project, an initiative working to foster community and environmentalism throughout Gables by creating and maintaining school gardens. Throughout their years at Gables they have built the mental health garden, the pollinator patch and the produce garden, alongside student volunteers.
Gables offers a variety of electives, where students can dive into their personal interests, aside from their academics. They learn more about themselves as they spend their free time doing the things they enjoy. With over 30 electives offered including ceramics, dance, music, fashion, culinary, journalism, creative writing, students have the opportunity to explore a wide variety.
