Volunteer Opportunity-Eco Adventures
We here at Miami EcoAdventures are offering high school students a chance to work closely with our naturalists to create and implement the curriculum at one of our three nature-based camps. We are looking for Junior Naturalists that are motivated, creative, and enthusiastic about nature and must possess a desire to work with youth in an outdoor setting. Junior Naturalists will help plan and lead nature-based activities such as nature walks, environmental education games, and occasionally canoeing/kayaking with campers ranging in ages from 6 to 14 years old.
Objectives: • Offer volunteers a chance to visit and give back to our Nature Center Park Sites • Opportunities to meet and engage with Miami-Dade Parks’ naturalists. • Participate in conservation action-driven projects that yield environmental stewardship and improve parks and natural areas. • Establish dedicated park stewards through conservation-focused volunteerism opportunities beyond EcoAction Days. • Build upon leadership skill • Earn community service hoursResponsibilities and Duties:
• Providing assistance to camp staff • Helping with light cleaning • Monitoring campers • Setting up and breaking down activities • Greeting and orienting campers, parents and/or visitorsSee the links below for more information.
