Inspiring documentary of a young woman who faced the Taliban.

He Named Me Malala

He Named Me Malalah: The story of Malala Yousafzai and her tremendous impact on peace and education.

Our Rating: A

He Named Me Malala is a heartwarming and inspiring documentary about a young girl from Afghanistan, Malala Yousafzai , who is a female activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Growing up, she has always supported the universal right to education in Pakistan and the rest of the world.

While Malala grew up in the Pakistan’s Swat Valley, her father built a school in order to provide education for their people. Since Malala and the rest of her family are zealous supporters of education, they’ve done as much as possible to provide children with the virtue of learning. Unfortunately, the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley.

In Oct. 2012, when she was 15 years old, Malala was shot in the head by the Taliban while she was on her way to school. This documentary shows how a young girl took this gruesome event in her life and made a heroic recovery. At the age of 16, she became a global symbol of peaceful protest at the United Nations.

After reading the book, I was eager to watch the documentary. Malala is an inspiring young woman who makes me realize that anything is possible if you set your mind to it!

This inspiring documentary shows how a young girl with a rough past was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize and is still making a tremendous impact in advocating for children all over the world to receive education. This demonstrates the power intrinsic to one’s voice in changing the world!
