Athlete of the Week: Robert McWilliams III

The Cavaliers took on the Coral Park Rams on Oct. 14 and the game ended in an amazing 61-0 win for Gables. Aiding in this victory, senior Robert McWilliams III had a great performance as he blocked  two punts, had two tackles for loss and four total tackles.

Q: What is your name?

A: Robert McWilliams.

Q: What is your position and jersey number?

A: Number 11 and I play defensive end.

Q: When did you begin playing football?

A: I began playing at the age of seven.

Q: Why did you start playing football?

A: It is a family sport.

Q: Do you plan on continuing football after high school?

A: Yes, I plan to play college football.

Q: What are your thoughts on not only the team’s performance but your own last game?

A: Well, I had a great game last game with three punts and the team came together as a whole. Everybody had a great game.

Q: If you could change one thing about the previous game, what would it have been?

A: Nothing.

Q: What are your feelings on being athlete of the week?

A: It is an honor to be athlete of the week.

Q: Do you have any other hobbies or special interests outside of football?

A: Basketball as well as other sports.

We hope the Cavaliers continue their great performance during the remainder of their season, and can’t wait to see what the season brings. Be sure to watch McWilliams at his next game Oct. 27, against the Columbus Explorers at Tropical Park at 7:30 p.m.
