Passionate for both land and water sports, senior Romain Lecat is sure to leave Gables with his legacy established. Currently playing for the water polo team, Lecat has found himself to have a passion for sports like rugby and soccer.

This being his last year on the team, Lecat wants to give it his all and leave his mark. After practicing and playing for four years, all of his hard work has payed off. Lecat was able to lead the boys water polo team to a victory at the Manga water polo tournament.

“It felt good because I pushed myself through those three years and with all this work, I told myself since this is my last year, that I had to step it up in the game – also for the rookies,” Lecat said.

Deciding he wanted to take a break from land sports, Lecat tried his hand at water sports. He joined the swim team his freshman year and later, decided to try out water polo. Besides water polo and swimming, Lecat also plays rugby and soccer.

“I’ve always played sports on land, so I wanted to try a change and try swimming, then water polo,” Lecat said.

As a senior, Lecat already has his college picked out. He will be attending Concordia in Montreal, Canada. Lecat hopes to continue playing sports in college, even if it is not water polo. He hopes to be able to play for the soccer or rugby team.

His strong desire to continue sports in college will drive him to give it his all in the water and field. We wish him good luck as he continues to play for the Gables water polo team and for the rest of his sports career.
